Sunanthee Kanchanawat joins the Jury of IGCAT’s Top Foodie Websites Award 2026

Integrated Gastronomy Design Advisor at the Thailand Gastronomy Network and IGCAT Expert from Thailand and Hong Kong, Sunanthee Kanchanawat joins the jury of IGCAT’s Top Foodie Websites Award 2026.

An Instructor in the Food and Beverage Department at the School of Hotel and Tourism Management at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Sunanthee specialises in gastronomy education, food literacy, and experiential learning. With academic training in Hospitality and Tourism Management and Tourism Management, she has contributed to curriculum development and higher education since 2012, combining academic research with industry practice.

Her professional journey in gastronomy began in Thailand with Perfect Link Consulting Group, a sustainable tourism consultancy, where she collaborated with national tourism organisations and explored the role of gastro-tourism in preserving culinary traditions and strengthening local identity. She later expanded her engagement with food culture through entrepreneurial experience, deepening her practical understanding of flavour, craftsmanship, and consumer experience.

Since relocating to Hong Kong in 2018, Sunanthee has designed educational gastronomy field trips that integrate food biodiversity, culinary heritage, and sensory experience design. Her work incorporates neuro-gastronomy concepts, farm-to-table encounters, and collaboration with local producers, positioning food as a tool for cultural connection and ethical awareness. She is currently pursuing doctoral research focused on redefining gastro-tourism through innovative itinerary design.

Her expertise offers a valuable perspective on how digital platforms can communicate food culture, engage audiences meaningfully, and contribute to the preservation and reinterpretation of culinary heritage.
